Todd C. Linden, FACHE

Todd C. Linden is  the president and CEO of Grinnell Regional Medical Center. Linden received his master of arts degree in health administration and a bachelor of arts degree, both from the University of Iowa. He is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.

During his tenure at GRMC, the medical center has tripled its 
medical staff; created a fitness and rehab center; added a 36,000-
square-foot medical office building; developed an integrated medicine program; constructed a $3 million dollar rural medical mall in an adjacent county; built three new community outreach clinics; and is currently implementing a $40 million comprehensive facilities master plan.

Since coming to Grinnell in 1994, Linden has been recognized for his leadership by the Des Moines Register, the Iowa Hospital Association, the Iowa Jaycee’s, Modern Healthcare Magazine, the Grinnell Business Women’s Association, the Healthcare Forum, the American Hospital Association, the University of Iowa, and the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Linden is a sought-after speaker at national conferences and state hospital associations. He has had the opportunity to testify in the U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate, and at a special teleconference with the President of the United States on healthcare issues. He also helped to lead a successful national effort to get language in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 to address the inequitable Medicare reimbursement level for mid-sized rural hospitals in America.

Linden served on the American Hospital Association’s Board of Trustees from 2000 to 2005. He was also a member of the Health Forum board. He is past-chair of both the Iowa Hospital Association and Health Enterprises of Iowa. He currently serves on the Grinnell College board of trustees, the University of Iowa College of Public Health advisory board, and the National Rural Advisory Committee for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. He is also an adjunct faculty member at the University of Iowa, as well as a faculty member for the American College of Healthcare Executives.

He has been active at the state level through appointments made by Iowa’s Governor, including chair of the Iowa Telemedicine Advisory Council. Locally, Linden serves or has served on the boards of the Grinnell Chamber of Commerce, Poweshiek Iowa Development, Waterford Group, Imagine Grinnell, Grinnell Renaissance (past-chair), and the Greater Poweshiek Community Foundation.

David L. Ness, Vice-President of Operations

David L. Ness is currently the vice-president of operations. He earned 
a degree in accounting and began his career as a hospital CFO. He later changed his focus to administration and received a credential of advanced studies in health services administration from the University of Minnesota.
Ness served as CEO of two rural Iowa hospitals prior to joining the GRMC staff as assistant administrator in 1986.

Ness is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He is active in the Grinnell community. He has served on the board of directors of Imagine Grinnell, The Galaxy Youth Center, the United Way, the Grinnell School Counseling Advisory Committee and Grinnell Chamber Ambassadors.  He currently serves on the Greater Poweshiek Community Foundation Board of Directors.

Doris J. Rindels, Vice-President of Operations

Doris Rindels, RN, oversees day-to-day operations for inpatient and outpatient areas. Rindels has been providing healthcare services to Poweshiek County since 1977, first as a nurse in the Wiltfang-Paulson clinic. She joined GRMC full time in 1990 as a nurse in the emergency department. Since then she has filled other roles, including nursing supervisor and director of nursing. In 2005, she became an assistant vice-president and was promoted to vice-president in 2013.

Rindels earned a bachelor’s degree in management of healthcare services from Ottawa University in Overland Park, Kansas, and a nursing diploma from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She volunteers with the Montezuma Fire and Ambulance, represents the hospital on the PoweshiekCounty EMS association, and serves as a member of the Iowa Organization for Nurse Leaders.Rindels also serves on the advisory boards for nursing programs at Iowa Valley Community College and Indian Hills Community College.

Kyle M. Wilcox, Vice-President of Finance & Business Development

Kyle M. Wilcox is the vice president of finance and business development. He earned his bachelor's degree and master of health administration from the University of Iowa. He is a certified healthcare financial professional and fellow through the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

His first role at GRMC was as an intern while working on his graduate degree in 2011. He has since served as the administrative fellow, director of revenue cycle, assistant vice-president of finance and as of 2015 the vice-president of finance and business development.

Wilcox currently serves as an officer of the Iowa Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association Board, treasurer of the Grinnell Community Daycare, board member of the Grinnell Chamber of Commerce and is an active Big Brother for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America in Grinnell. He is a member of the Iowa Hospital Association, American College of Healthcare Executives and Healthcare Financial Management Association.
