Certified CPR Courses

Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED
Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage a first aid, choking or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives.  Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies.  This course also teaches adult CPR and AED use.

This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in first aid, CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory or other requirements.  (ex. Lifeguards, daycare workers, fitness instructors, etc.)

Effective April 1st, 2012 GRMC is offering part 1 of this course online only. 

  1. Log onto the American Heart Association website at www.onlineaha.org. The product number is 90-1401 for Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Online.  You will need to register & pay by credit card ($39.95).
  2. Complete all online exercises and online test
  3. Print the Certificate of Completion for Part 1  
  4. Contact Wellness (236-2999 or wellness@grmc.us) to schedule skills evaluation. Plan for approximately 45 minutes. The skills must be completed within 60 days of the date on the Part 1 certificate. Skills testing is $20 and is payable by check or cash on the day of testing.

Basic Life Support CPR for Healthcare Providers
The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner.

This course is for healthcare professionals who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings.

Effective April 1st, 2012 GRMC is offering part 1 of this course online only. 

  1.  Log onto the American Heart Association website at www.onlineaha.org.  The product number is 90-1403 for the BLS for Healthcare Providers Online.  You will need to register & pay by credit card ($22.00).
  2. Complete the 12 mandatory checkpoints.
  3. Complete the examination with 84% or higher.
  4. Print out Part 1 certificate showing completion.
  5. Contact Wellness (236-2999 or wellness@grmc.us) to schedule skills evaluation. Plan for approximately 30 minutes. The skills must be completed within 60 days of the date on the Part 1 certificate.  Skills testing is $20 and is payable by check or cash on the day of testing.

The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in BLS, ACLS, and PALS and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the association.
