Grinnell Regional Medical Center values the hours given by the volunteers and the GRMC Auxiliary. In appreciation for their time, talents, and trust, GRMC will host a recognition dinner for all volunteers at the medical center, including hospice volunteers. This event will also serve as the annual membership meeting for the GRMC Auxiliary.
Volunteers and auxiliary members are invited to the appreciation festivities on Tuesday, April 11, beginning with social time at 5:30 p.m. A buffet dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. and the awards program will begin at 7 p.m.
“The volunteers and auxiliary members are so important to the medical center and hospice program. This gathering is a time for us to say ‘thank you’ to each one in attendance,” says Cara Kenkel, GRMC volunteer coordinator. “This year we will welcome the hospice program volunteers.”
The program includes volunteer milestone recognition, announcement of the auxiliary scholarship winners, and a slide show of the volunteers in action.
“This is a causal event for socializing, which is why we added a social time with a cash bar,” says Donnette Ellis, GRMC Auxiliary president. “Our guests had a great time meeting other volunteers last year, so we want to encourage more volunteers to join us this year. This is a fun way to say thank you to our volunteers and auxiliary members for the hours they donate to GRMC, hospice, and the auxiliary.”
A free will donation will be collected to help defray the cost of the meal. All GRMC volunteers are invited and cost should not deter attendance. The Auxiliary will also have a table for the “Growing Awareness for Cancer” program.
Volunteers and auxiliary members and their guests are asked to RSVP by April 4 to 641-236-2593.
