Step back in time and enjoy a holiday program based on Grinnell in the late 1800s. Members of the Grinnell Historical Society and the community will present “A Victorian Christmas in Grinnell” at the Grinnell Regional Medical Center Senior Education Program on Monday, Dec. 11.
Society members will speak about life during the Victorian era in the Midwest, including images of the era. The program will also feature a display of items from the historical museum and a singing group to perform traditional Victorian Christmas songs. Barb Lease, a historical society member, is spearheading this program with several other members.
All are welcome to join in the final Senior Education Program for 2017. Holiday refreshments begin at 9:30 a.m. and the program will begin at 10 a.m. in the Drake Community Library. This program is free and open to the public.
Parking is available at the Drake Community Library, along Park Street, on Fifth Avenue, and in the First Presbyterian Church parking lot. Seniors needing transportation or special accommodations may call GRMC’s communications and development office at 641-236-2590 by the Thursday before the program.
