With spring on the way, change is in the air and now is a great time to get a fresh perspective on the recent changes in the tax code. Join Blake McKibbin, JD, president of Syverson Strege and Company, and Lance Gunkel, chief financial officer for Sherpa Investment Management, on Monday, March 12 at the UnityPoint Health® – Senior Education program.
McKibbin and Gunkel will discuss how the changes in the laws could affect individuals, business owners and farmers, particularly in regards to long-term financial planning. They will also talk about how the tax code changes may affect people’s estate planning, charitable giving and the effects it could have on the financial markets.
McKibbin recently joined the Syverson Strege and Company as president and has a unique background of having worked in education, wealth management and philanthropy. McKibbin received his Juris Doctorate from Drake University Law School and his undergraduate degree from the University of Utah. Gunkel is a Certified Financial Planner and has been with Sherpa Investment Management since 2003. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Drake University and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Iowa.
This program is free and open to the public. It will be held at 10 a.m. in the Drake Community Library, with refreshments beginning at 9:30 a.m.
